Mertens & Voß
A discreet, authoritative presence for a corporate law firm — built to reassure boards and decision-makers before the first call.

The concept
The brief. A corporate law firm wins mandates on reputation and discretion, long before a contract is signed. Mertens & Voß needed a presence that signals decades of standing and discreet competence to boards, founders and general counsel — authoritative without ever raising its voice.
The approach. A deep navy canvas with restrained gold accents sets a classic, serious tone, while the Prata serif lends the editorial gravitas of a firm that has been consulted since 1987. The page is structured as a quiet argument: a three-word credo, a clear practice-area grid, and named partners who put faces to the firm’s competence.
Why it works. Every decision reassures a risk-averse, high-stakes audience: legible structure over marketing copy, real partners over stock imagery, and a calm, confidential contact path. Trust here is built through restraint and clarity.
A closer look at the details
A credo in three words
Discretion, precision and the will to prevail — the firm's working principles stated plainly, in a typographic moment that reads like a promise rather than a slogan.
- Confident editorial typesetting
- Gold accent on the key term
- Values stated, not advertised

Practice areas at a glance
Six numbered practice areas in a calm two-column grid, so a CFO or general counsel can confirm the firm's remit in seconds — from M&A to commercial litigation.
- Numbered, scannable structure
- Corporate-law breadth shown clearly
- No clutter, no jargon

Partners, not associates
Named partners with portrait and specialism turn an anonymous firm into people you can trust — credibility carried by faces and disciplines, not adjectives.
- Real partners, real names
- Specialism shown per person
- Human trust over boilerplate
